Where I've Been

Besides reading a ton of books, we have had to deal with leaks in our house that have created considerable damage. Our house is going to be torn up to get all the moisture out of the walls and floor of the basement, kitchen and living room. Thankfully insurance will cover that. Insurance will not cover repairs my husband needs on his vehicle and his teeth.
I am also involved in the church taking on more duties due to the death of one of my lectors. I say "my lectors" because I am the leader of the Lector Ministry. I will be reading at her funeral this Saturday. Plus with a new priest we have had one meeting with him and have another one coming up. And with Lent coming up I have masses on Ash Wednesday to take care of and participate in the World Day of Prayer.
I have also volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul which includes one meeting a month and visiting families in need.
Personally, I have started physiotherapy on my shoulders which will be one appointment a week, a massage appointment, and lunch with a friend. And with the writing group we are having an Open Mic Event for National Poetry Month in April. I manage the registrations and will be the M.C. this year.
I was asked to do something else for the church but I am overwhelmed. I turned to someone else for assistance. There's only so much a person can do. I don't know how my daughter did it. With the new priest she is no longer doing all the stuff she was doing in the past, which was everything at all masses. And she had surgery on her knee a couple of weeks ago. That only held her down for 2 days.
Honestly, I wish I could go back 40 years to my parents' house and live with them there again. What's going on in today's world sucks. Adulting is not fun.
So I am trying to post my book reviews but may skip some along the way. They are piling up too much for me to catch up.
So when is Spring anyway?

You have been doing a lot and keeping busy. And you are right. What's going on in today's world does suck, and adulting is not fun. And you ask a fine question. When is spring? I am not feeling any effects of upcoming spring at all.

@patgalca I like how you keep yourself busy and productive. That's wonderful. Keep it up! Your husband is just concerned that you are working too hard. You are doing just fine. Take a few breaks here and there though.

@lilacskies I am used to a regimented schedule so all these meetings have thrown me off my routine. I'm tired.

I'm trying. It just happens that this week is very busy. And to be honest, I am frustrated with our new priest as he is making so many changes. There is a ministry leader meeting with him tomorrow. I'm scared what he is going to order us to do next.

I hate living in a house during construction. So far they just have two huge dehumidifiers in the house to get rid of the hidden moisture. It's when they start tearing down walls and pulling up floors that I am going to be bothered. We won't have a kitchen sink for a period of time.

Reading is one way to learn new ideas and keep your mind sharp.

@Deepizzaguy I also like playing a couple of computer games... especially Word Swipe. That really makes me work my brain.
