The rent is increasing

Awesome. Smokey McSmokerson knocked on the door before to let me know that there was a notice on my door because it is really windy out. Those wind chimes must really be pissing off the people across from me. (they hate them) Anyway it was a rental notice that the rent is increasing by $125/month. I am in no humor to be okay with that when the tiles by the door are still busted and they are already saying that the pool may not open this year. When I moved here the rent was $1245 per month. Starting in April it will be up to $1550. That is nuts and the crazy think is that is still the cheapest rent in the area unless you want to live among gangsters. This is insanity. I could be paying a mortgage less than that in another state. Ugh. And I am the idiot who was truthful and said I have pets. Everyone else around here either says they have fake service dogs or doesn't report them at all. Good thing I do all of that tutoring!

That is something renters dread hearing from their landlords, but we can not really complain because we are just occupying their space so we can live comfortably in their homes.

Yikes! That really sucks. I always found it really interesting that people can live in an apartment for say like 10 years, paying $1500/month, but then get turned down when they apply for a mortgage load to buy a house because the lender feels they can't afford a $1000/month mortgage payment.

My rent went up, but by about half that much. $125 is such a big jump, and like you said, no pool. That ain’t right.

We have a contract here for 11 months and an owner cannot ask for the rent increase till the agreement doesn't end

Wowza. My mortgage was never more than $400 a month. (Remember that I’ve lived here for 36 years, though…) On top of that, your pool isn’t open this year, right?!

That's a huge monthly increase. Thank heavens you can earn a bit extra from time to time.

My rent goes up every single January, just like clockwork. I'm sorry, that is a huge raise in rent.
