Do you know what's overrated? Acting like you don't care, pretending to be unbothered.

It's the whole, "it is what it is" attitude all the time. I'm sick of it. I get it, it's easier to brush everything off and to act like nothing affects you. But feeling, expressing and believing in your beliefs you gain confidence. It's not cringe. Pretending like nothing bothers you isn't confidence; it's treating life like it's just something to pass through. Instead, being genuine is inspiring. You don't need to react to everything. Controlling your emotions is not the same as suppressing them. Stop pretending like nothing bothers you because even you know that's not true.

Only different people are bothered by different things. And making a scene in public isn't the best way to express yourself either. You need to learn to express yourself in a healthy way.

Yes, of course. It's important to control your emotions. No one wants to be around 24/7 drama. But, the other extreme of suppressing emotions is just as bad and perhaps worse. It's not useful to be nonchalant about everything; it's not productive to react to everything.

@MarkPaul That's why we tend to learn to balance our emotions as we age and get older.

@kaylachan That's why we SHOULD learn HOW to balance. Many people don't because they don't know how or they think it will make them look cringe if they express their emotions or on the other end of the extreme, they let their emotions control them.

If we can all allow ourselves to be human for once, to be emotional is not weakness but an acknowledgment of your feelings as human

it's sometimes better to walk away, if we can.

I don't know... walking away seems like giving up and that is what I am speaking up against. I guess if you state your feelings before you walk away that would be less of a problem. But, it is important to confront the issue, always.
