My visit to the doctor yesterday revealed a few things. . The loaded feeling and weakness that I experience in my legs the doctor said could also be due to some nerve issues He has givne me a tablet and I always check on the Net and I see it is also good for nerve issues resulting from herpes zoster. I was a victim years ago and I strongly feel what I am going through could be the cause of herpes zoster If that is the case I am sure this tablet will work on me. Keeping my fingers crossed

I’m so sorry you’re having this. Thankfully I never had chickenpox, so I’m not susceptible to shingles (what we call herpes zoster in America). I have never EVER read a good thing about herpes zoster, though. I will keep you in my prayers.

I had it years ago and did not know it could affect nerves. But now after so many years when my doctor prescribed a tablet for treating the weakness in my limbs assuming it could be a nerve issue I browsed for that tablet and there it talks about nerves being affected by shingles apart from various other uses. Hopefully this tablet will work Thank you for your concern.

@FourWalls You realize you can still get chicken pox and therefore herpes zoster, right? If you are around anyone with chicken pox or shingles, the virus can jump to your system. I hope you never get either one. They make you feel miserable!

I had shingles (herpes zoster) three times before I turned 50. I have some numbness on the left side of my back from it. I was so happy when the doctors changed the age for people to get the shingles vaccination to 50 instead of 60 years old. I got the vaccination three years ago. Hopefully, I'll never get shingles again. I've never heard of a pill for it, though. I hope that works for you. Good luck!

@DaddyEvil I had always suspected about the numbness due to shingles but my doctor did not make much of it and now there it is. Numbness can be due to blood circulation issues but I do not have varicose veins nor swelling in my ankles.

My kids are all vaccinated against chicken pox. My husband was mad when he found out my little one was vaccinated for it. I had a horrible case when I was a kid and there’s no sense making them go through that if they don’t have to. My little one had a bad rash for days from the vaccine I can only imagine how much worse it would be if she had gotten chicken pox!

@allknowing we had chicken pox as kids and he thinks it didn’t kill us so why get the vaccine. He thinks she wouldn’t be at risk for shingles someday if I let her get chicken pox naturally but he is completely wrong on that as well.

Vaccination is a good thing and there is no reason why your husband was not in its favour

I had not heard of that term for shingles before. The vaccination is expensive, and the doctor's here are reluctant to give it out to anyone. I have not been vaccinated yet, although I am approaching 70. It would be a good result if that tablet sorts out your leg issues too.

I had it only once years ago and did have numbness which the doctor did not make much of. But now this doctor has prescribed this tablet assuming that numbness could be due to nerve issues but did not connect it to Herpes Zoster. My search got me that info,. Hopefully that tablet should help Thank you
