Gone are the days when a family doctor spent a lot of his time with the family givng them the kind of assurance they needed. There were always home visits.
I have a doctor who does pick up my phone but is always in a hurry. Any time he prescrfibes anything I browse the Net to see if he has prescribed me the right medicine I also browse the Net and suggest remedies.
Gone are the days when examination was done without any gadgets but now it is CT scanning and other technological approaches. How I wish my doctor felt my pulse and checked me for any likely health issues.
What is your thinking on this?

They are always in a hurry. They make mistakes too But my doctor knows I check and he feels safe that way

I’m too young to remember what it could have been like in the old days, so I’m used to docs being in a hurry. However, I had female GPs most of the time and they always made me feel at ease despite their load of work. They would often feel like aunts, and I’m glad of that.

I too have doctors who let me talk to them on the phone but permit me to say they are not as thorough as those that were in the good old days These depend more on those gadgets. You are lucky that your doctor does not

@somewitch I get that preference too but what bothers me is the methodology that is adopted these days My doctor remembered mne who had treated me 19 years ago

@allknowing I booked an appointment with my latest via phone call but when I showed up, the assistant told me I wasn't on the list.
Luckily the doctor remembered I called and didn't make me wait.

I miss the simple days of doctors taking care of their patients as well.
