We live in a society where you will see many weddings at the same day. It's because Hindu marriages are held on days prescribed by the Panchang. The Panchang is like a book of dates indicating days of pujas, parv , fast or any religious or social occasion. It also indicates auspicious dates and even hours and moments to have vivah ( marriage). For this reason you might see many wedding pandals on a day when you will find ni wedding at all.
Today is an auspicious day to tie the knot. There is a wedding just on the other side of our fence wall. A band has been hired and they have
been playing popular film tunes on their instruments all day.
The marriage itself is solemnised in the bride's house . And so now the band is quiet. However, they will play their music with extra gusto when the groom brings the bride. That may happen any time tomorrow
One interesting scene you might see in our foster home. Our children burst out into a dance when the music is played. And sometimes, I can't hold myself back. I happily shake my legs when the music is played. Crazy isn't it?

We were privileged enough to attend a Hindu wedding and saw a band in action. Everyone really enjoyed the dancing.
