Nordstrom Is Driving Me Nuts

United States

I have insomnia tonight so I decided to distract myself since I am wide awake anyway. I am listening to music while I browse the Nordstrom website. I clicked on the sale section as usual because I can't afford regular retail prices. Then I filtered lowest to highest. I scored a deal on a glass Christmas ornament for only $2.59 and that includes sales tax! I bought it for my grandma who collects whimsical ornaments despite not celebrating Christmas. This ornament is a metallic green and shaped like a pickle! She will have a laugh over that! And it's only $2.59. Why not? I checked other sites selling the same ornament and they are all $5 and over. Some are even $10! I'm not paying $10 for a single ornament that is that small! I scored another deal on a set of glittery hairbands for $5.34 for my niece. I won't be giving these to her immediately after receiving them. She already received enough gifts for her birthday last month. I will give these to her when she goes on vacation with her family up at the summer house during summer break. She can wear them to match her glittery swimsuits since she swims and lounges with her hair tied up. I compared prices on other websites and they were $8 to $10 on other websites not including shipping! Both items had a red notice that stated 1 in stock so after I purchased them, they both stated sold out in black. I bought the last ones available! If I didn't check the website tonight, I would've missed out especially on the cute pickle ornament! This makes me kick myself for not purchasing from them earlier. It's so cheaper to buy gifts on there. I don't have to spend money on shipping, waste gas, and even waste time and energy browsing thrift stores. I can buy gifts on this website and save so much time, money, and energy. I am happily a repeat buyer because Nordstrom is driving me nuts with their good deals in the sale section!

Haha Yep! She collects ornaments and it's only $2.59 with sales tax and free shipping, so I bought it before I missed out. That is a good question. Not really. Is there a secret meaning to pickles? Like bananas and eggplants?

@lilacskies ........The ornament is hidden on the tree. The first person to find it gets an extra gift. I never used one but some back east I guess do use them.

@celticeagle Oh, that is a very innocent meaning. My apologies. I was thinking that it would be something gross like with bananas and eggplants. Also, I checked the electronic receipt and it stated gherkin instead of pickle. I had to do research on the side to see if the gherkin is the same as pickle and it turns out that it a type of pickle anyway. I am so dumb.

You are very young, and a very loving person to be remembering your grandma and niece. :)

Thank you so much! You are so sweet. I always think about my family when I see nice things. I buy them nice things instead of myself!

Thank you! I sure am. Did you see any ornaments up for sale online for under $3 and free shipping in this economy? I sure haven't! So I couldn't miss out on this deal!

When I read your title I thought Nordstrom was giving you issues lol. Glad that wasn’t the case. You got a great deal on your purchases. Now I’m tempted to go to their site and see what they have on sale there.

@lilacskies That’s an awesome deal, especially since shipping is free. I hate it when they charge for shipping and it’s more than the item you want to buy.

@lovebuglena Yes, I saved money on gas. I'm not going to thrift stores this year. I am cutting back on gas as much as possible.

Haha No, they are driving me nuts in a good way. I scored a deal on a cute pickle ornament for $2.59 last night and am still raving over it. My grandma is going to have a nice laugh over it. She loves ornaments like this. She has a lot of food shaped ornaments in her collection. Check their sale section, filter lowest to highest, and you will see all the things under $5! I couldn't pass up on an under $3 deal especially when thrift stores would've charged twice that for a used one!

I have read your earlier post too praising the site. Glad that you have found one that works for you. Both gifts sound amazing and thoughtful. You were lucky to grab the last available piece before they were all sold out.

@lilacskies Sorry about your experience with Amazon. Hope this new site stays kind and good in the future too.. happy customers bring more business. Seems like a good site and things sell like hot cakes there. I had that feeling too that insomnia is more common in the western world. I know of friends on various forums who keep talking about their insomnia and how it impacts their life.
