Well, to begin with, I am not a Donald Thump fan.
Agreed by siding Putin, he has put off WWIII, but from my angle it is called chickened out. Unilateral sessions are garbage. That too single session...booooooooooo Mr. Thump.
There are many many other reasons I do not like him......l already mentioned throwing Americans out from their jobs....and throwing Gaza people out...he seems to be an out master. LOL
BUT...
Tariffs is something different altogether. Let us do derivation to the conclusion here.
Why should India get away charging higher tariffs on American imports?
He is right........tariffs should be reciprocal....
Will it help American economy............some things will become expensive....with additions
But which things? Electronics, chemicals, clothing software.........not essentials ..medications ...essentials.
Slowly relevant companies will come up, and employment will increase........that is what the blond thinks.
But will it be viable? I doubt it ....
As one pharma company director was saying...it is impracticable.....
The minimum wages of the US will make medications and other chemicals etc., extremely expensive. So inflation will mount....industries even if set up in the US ...will not remain as viable....
What then is the solution?
Discretion on tariffs, of course.....
Back where we started?
What seems fair same level tariffs ...is actually gonna hit the economy hard.........like the gold mines new industries will be set up but abandoned.
As to food.........with China imposing higher tariffs on food....Americans can rejoice...food will become cheaper....

It is only a few weeks in and look at the damage this idiot this creep has done. He uses tarrifs like he knows what he's doing. Putin is laughing at Trump, using him. We are way to close to that war you speak about. There's no hope. It's scary. Neither of these men can be trusted. One is a war criminal and the other is a want a be authoritarian. We are basically at their mercy.

@celticeagle 46 percent of our leaders have criminal cases filed against them.
Serious criminal cases are 31 percent..
But they are still allowed to stand up for elections.

Yeah....Trump is in fact putting American farmer in jeopardy.....as it is, there is so much surplus there....which gets thrown into sea....unless he starts food processing and establishes long term storage systems, I don't see how he will manage with farm produce.

@id_peace I really don't know...but so much wheat, and chicken.....no exports...either people be asked to consume that, or find a way to process and store or export. He is going for no tariffs with Argentina...
So in all probability Argentina will buy that food...cheaper than transporting to China

It will not help anything. Not for the average person especially.
As for war I feel he has moved us closer to it.
I put a picture up yesterday.

I am not comfortable with both Gaza and Putin decisions....there is a lot of hurt there...Zelensky showed the pictures of war crimes........ resentment may result in somebody taking an action against the US. Immaturity.
I think farm produce like chicken and wheat and consequently bread will become cheaper for you all, though at this end, we may find it tougher because China is attacking our former markets.

I completely agree....the man simply has no common sense. He is perturbed about Harley Davidson...
Arunima........that vehicle is so expensive!!!. Average person doesn't even buy Royal Enfield. How many vehicles could that company sell in India? Anybody who can afford a Harley Davidson, can also afford a lower end or second hand car. Why will I opt for a two wheeler, when I can get a four wheeler that accommodates my entire family and keeps me rain free as well as heat free...Indian mind thinks like that. The few who can afford and desire Harley Davidson two wheelers are too few. Most already have such vehicle. So the turnover was lower, not sufficient to cover the rental costs and other overheads. That is the reason Harley Davidson left India. Not because of tariffs.
