Going to Get Food Allergy Tested This Morning

United States

I had two more situations yesterday in addition to the one I had Sunday or Monday where I had an allergic reaction to something I ate. One was definitely tree nuts. I'm not sure about the others. Insurance doesn't cover food allergy testing, so this is going to be out-of-pocket for me but I think it's important for me to know what's causing these seemingly increasing reactions before something serious happens.

I wonder why they don’t cover that. I’d think that a reaction to something you eat might kill you a lot quicker than inhaling dogwood pollen. But hey, insurance is stupid.

Sure hope the tests will show what you're allergic to. That can be dangerous.

Why do you think it will show something different other than what you know you are allergic to? Did the allergist say you needed more testing? What about just doing a consult?

That insurance..they are so greedy and won't cover necessary things. Good luck hope they find out what it is Lou.

Hope you find out what's causing your reaction. Best to find out even if you have to pay out-of-pocket (which really is sad that insurance won't cover it).

That seems weird they wouldn’t pay for it. I mean MY insurance wouldn’t pay, but mine isn’t good.
