Bracing For Tropical Cyclone Alfred: A Community's Hope and Resilience

As we stand on the precipice of Tropical Cyclone Alfred's imminent arrival here in Brisbane, a wave of uncertainty and anxiety washes over us. My family, friends, and I find, in a collective pause, bracing for the unknown. The atmosphere is thick with tension yet interwoven with threads of hope and solidarity. In these moments of vulnerability, our thoughts constantly shift from our immediate surroundings to the broader community. We remind ourselves of the resilience that has defined us through past adversities. The unknown looms large, but so does our unwavering spirit. The strength we draw from each other is profound. My family gathers close, our conversations filled with both practical preparations and emotional reassurances. Friends reach out, their voices on the other end of the line offering comfort and solidarity. Together, we form a tapestry of support that weaves through the fabric of our lives. Yet, beyond our personal networks, we also look to the larger community for strength. As neighbours check in on each other and local authorities provide updates, we are reminded that we are not alone. Our collective hope is bolstered by the shared humanity that binds us. In these uncertain hours, we hold on to the hope that everything will be alright. We ask for thoughts and prayers from those near and far, believing in the power of positive energy to guide us through this storm. Our hearts are heavy, but they are also filled with the light of hope and the promise of togetherness.

Thank you, Judy. The rain was really heavy the last few days and places around us got flooded, Gold Coast was worst hit along with other coastal areas. But we are safe now. :)

@MNRFOLEY That's good to hear. I can't imagine the horror of watching the water rising and not being able to do anything about it.
