My little garden became a toilet

There were poops in the garden!!! There were some on the rectangular flowerpot and on the ground next to it. At first, I just put sand over them. The next day, there was again another. These were cat's poop. I decided to spray the area with a solution of lemon essential oil, dishwashing liquid and water. However, the next day, there was again another. What I did was to remove the poop from the area, also I removed the pot. As of today, I haven't gone out yet since it's still dark. I hope there would be better results.

Cats generally hate citrus. They also hate cinnamon, hot pepper flakes, regular pepper, and curry. If one doesn't work, another one will. I have had the best luck with cinnamon, myself. I have to keep it around the garden sometimes because the geese come up from the little lake and want to eat my garden plants in the spring.

I did spray lemon essential oil and dishwashing liquid. Maybe I'll try cinnamon, chili flakes, etc... next time. Thanks for that.

@MarieCoyle So cinnamon is also among those that cats and other animals don't like. I may try that also.

@pahak627 I go to the dollar store and get the cheap cinnamon to keep the critters out of my garden, it really does work well for me.

Spray the pot and the area around the pot with vinegar. Cats can't stand the smell and will stay away until rain washes the vinegar odor away. (After the vinegar dries, you won't be able to smell it but cats sure can!)

I'll do that too. Later, I'll spray the area with vinegar. When I went out this morning, there was good result, no more poop already.

@pahak627 Very nice! I'm glad that worked for you but I wouldn't let cats steal my area. When you have time, do try putting your garden back out there, just spray with vinegar after every rain. (At our last house, cats kept mating on our front porch until I started spraying the posts around the edge of the area to keep them away.)

That is annoying as all get out. My parents used to have that problem with their neighbor’s cat.

Yes, it's very annoying with all the smell and the dirt. These are our neighbors' cats too. When I went out this morning, there was none already. I hope it will be like this always.

The cats are not able to come near the area where they used to poop. I sprayed the solution that I made every morning and afternoon. Yesterday I took some of the dried poop out in order that the cats could not anymore smell poop from the garden.

Yes, it has better results this time. I will also spray the area with vinegar as what is suggested by DE.
