A Mini game

My younger daughter ‘Little One’ likes to play a game – well it’s not really much of a game to be honest, but not sure what else to call it. Basically she and her friends try to be the first to spot a Mini (car – see photo). The first person to spot one says ‘Mini’ and punches their friend on the shoulder – hopefully not too hard.
She introduced us to this ‘game’ which was fine, except if we were in the car and she was in the back seat. It was easy for her to punch me, but practically impossible for me to punch her, even if I did manage to spot the car first. It was even worse if I was driving because of course I had to be looking where we were going and not peering up people’s driveways looking for Minis!
So I banned the punching bit as I was getting mad at being punched all the time. But we still spot the cars – there are a surprising number of them around!
The other day on one of my volunteer driving days I was taking a woman to the radiotherapy unit. Not the most cheerful of journeys. But on the way we passed a Mini and I mentioned the Mini game, and in no time at all she was trying to spot them and we were both laughing so much at trying to find them on the road and in driveways and car parks we passed.
Such a little thing but I like to think I made her trip just that little bit more fun and made her feel a bit better.
