Chitlins is something I would never eat. They are primarily eaten in the South, and we used to have a store here that sold them. They are pig intestines with spices. That just sounds nasty and slimy. I wouldn't eat the intestines of any critter. Would this be something you would ever consider eating? I think I would have to be starving to consider this acceptable, and I mean literally starving not just having hunger pangs or something.

I have never had them, but walked into someone’s kitchen once while they were washing them to cook. It was an unbearable smell. I’ve been told that I would like them, but no thanks. However intestines are in potted meat and some other meats like certain sausages. I discovered this on the label of ingredients. Here mostly black people eat them. My husband doesn’t like them. My son wanted to try them and spit them out. We were at a friend’s home and he was around 9 or 10. I was so afraid that it would hurt their feelings, but they just laughed and still laugh about it all of these years later.

Yukky, poo, poo. Some people use chicken chitlins in making gravy, but I don't think I have ever tasted them..I don't like any kind of organ meat whatsovever. I remember my mom used to cook some of the innards for the cat at Thanksgiving. Glad she liked them! The rest of us sure wouldn't have wanted to eat them.

@Tampa_girl7 The cat and the dog when we had one enjoyed them.

I'd rather starve than eat intestines of any sort.

You might feel differently in the moment, but yeah it is pretty darn nasty to contemplate.
