Is this a good way to warn drivers about a long load on top of your car? Only in Australia

I've seen weird and funny things here is Australia and this one made me chuckle too. There's never a dull moment in the land down under - literally. This car had long poles/pipes on top and it was the drivers duty to warn drivers behind them about this. Most people would have used a red flag or cloth. This guy decided to use a colorful bra to highlight the danger. I wonder if it was safer or a distraction.
And me? I had to explain this to my little daughter in the backseat as she had a million questions....

At least it catches the attention of other drivers. 
Don't worry, one day you'll be explaining REALLY difficult subjects to your daughter. At least this one was fairly simple. All you had to do was tell her the driver didn't have anything else to signal other drivers about the long poles/pipes on top of his vehicle.

@pitstop When my daughter was little, I got all the interesting conversations with her. He mom would tell her to just go ask Daddy... 
Explaining what "lesbians" meant was fun... I told her it was a mommy that liked other mommies. (She was around 5 at the time.) She never asked about that subject again. Either she forgot about it or learned on her own when she was older.
