Good day to you all, hope you’re doing well.
I was reading some news and seen this article about the guy who was put to death by firing squad in South Carolina for the murder of two people in 2001.
My first thought was, we still kill people by firing squad. We do, in a few states the person can choose this method. South Carolina, Mississippi, Utah, Oklahoma and Idaho still allow those who are on death row to choose this over electric chair or lethal injection.
I know some say we shouldn’t have the death penalty, but I think in some cases we should have it. Brad Sigmon from what I read is one I’m good with the death penalty. From what I am reading he is the guy who beat his ex-girlfriends’ parents to death with a baseball bat and has always admitted it. He did it while trying to kidnap her which he full has admitted to all of it.
I understand some say, well we shouldn’t kill because God says ‘thou shalt not kill’ but doesn’t also say something about ‘an eye for an eye’? Yes, maybe I am not taking it in full contents but I’m kind of joking about that but maybe he should have been beaten with a baseball bat.
Besides stirring the pot, with that statement, I did learn there has been four death penalties carried out by firing squad in the United States in recent history. This one was yesterday March 7th, the others were all in Utah, 2010, 1996 and 1977.
I don’t know for sure but seems it would be more cost effective to put some of these people to death than to house them in prison for the rest of their lives and I figure why keep these kinds of people alive.
