Today, I got a newsletter from Boise's mayor telling me about things going on in the community. They are changing the city flag. Why I don't know. Being a traditionalist I like the old one.
We have a Farmer's Market and a Capitol City Public Market all summer. I'd like to go and see what goodies they have. In April and May will be a YMCA Marathon on the Greenbelt and the 100th Anniversary of the Boise Train Depot. It's been closed for years but the building is amazing. You can climb up into the tower and see a rare view of Boise in the bell tower.
In June we will have the Art and Roses in Julia Davis' Rose Garden. It's beautiful and a favorite haunt of mine. The picture is of the garden. Neighborhood concerts in the many parks and a Dandelion Festival.
In July of course there will be fireworks put on by the city in several areas. And toward the end of the month is the Jaialdi celebration which is the Basque celebration downtown. They have great food and the music is wonderful.
In August we have a Soul Food Festival, an Indian Food Festival, and a Comic Arts Festival too.
In September we the famous Hyde Park Street Fair. We used to go every year. Artists and crafters from all over the country come to sell their wares. It's a great place to find unique and beautiful items to wear or decorate your home. Also a Pride Fest and Japan Day.
There is always something fun. I wish I could get out more and enjoy some of these things. But without transportation, it is a real hassle getting all over town, especially on the weekends. I love Boise and could never leave here to go live somewhere else.

You have a lot going on. If you are participating in any of those, I doubt you will be bored. You can entertain yourself and learn so much. That seems like a nice place to live.

I used to. No way to get to them. Boise is a great place to live. It is a red state so it has some drawbacks but I don't think I'd want to live anywhere else.

@celticeagle For a red state, it sure is diverse and fun. I think you would do fine here in the east coast too. I mean, yes, we have our drawbacks as well, but it's not that different from where you live if you like entertainment and diversity.

The city has a lot of entertainment planned. It's a pity you find it hard to get to some of these.
