Will I ever learn? Probably not.
We were out and about and decided to make a stop at Burger King for lunch. I got a Whopper. My wife got an original chicken. My mom got a Big Fish. We also got two medium orders of onion rings with some Zesty Sauce.
It's still with us. Yeesh and dagnabbit. It effectively ruined dinner. We do have some hot dogs in the fridge, and it looks like tonight's dinner will just be a "snack" of sorts. Oh well.
Luckily this only happens about once a week. I guess at the end of the day it still saves us some money if we're not cooking a full-blown dinner tonight. Mom decided she wanted to pay, and we didn't decline.
On the bright side, we own stock in the company that owns Burger King as well, so maybe it's a win-win?
What went on your dinner table tonight?

I just made rotini pasta with beef and pesto for our "lunch". I don't know what we'll have late tonight for dinner.
The stop at Burger King sounds good. We used to do that every couple of weeks but the local Burger King closed down either right before or during the pandemic. We'd have to drive 70 or so miles to reach one now.

We cooked a catfish stew and will have leftovers after church tomorrow. I love whoppers, but BG here is awful.

I didn't let her. She insisted. It would have made her feel bad if we didn't allow it. We refused many, many times and it just made her mad. She always wants to pay for my groceries when I take her to the grocery store. That I refuse adamantly.

Looks like the fast-food lunch really stuck with you! Sometimes a big meal in the middle of the day just throws off the whole evening. It has happened to me a couple of times as well. At least having a light dinner translates to less effort in the kitchen. Again if you're invested in the company, you’re technically getting a tiny bit of your money back. Would definitely love to get those dividends! Good to know that your mom treated you all, too; sometimes, it’s best to just accept the generosity. A hot dog “snack” night sounds low-key . For my dinner is a simple Indian bread (Chappati) with curry. Hopefully, your stomach settles by tomorrow! Have a great weekend!

Yeah. It happens. Luckily, it's not that often. The help to the company's bottom line is definitely an added bonus that translates into a sort of return at some point. As for the hot dogs, we even had hot dog buns in the fridge, which made it even better.

Well you heard about the colcannon and smoked sausage for last night. At lunch we had Hardee's and tonight we will have a salad. I like to use spinach as a base, then we have those little burpless cucumbers, and vine ripened cocktail tomatoes, and turkey to go in it. I may make one for tomorrow for lunch while I am at it. We drive thirty miles to visit a Burger King, but the last time we went we got small burgers, value menu or something and they were really good and fresh.

That was nice of your mom to pay for your lunch. Last night we had steak and salad it was yummy and then I had caramel popcorn for dessert.

Don’t remember the last time I went to Burger King. Saturday night we went to a restaurant close to my mom’s house. Food was pretty good. The NY strip wasn’t as tender though.

I never thought about buying stock in a restaurant. I know you used to own Texas Roadhouse stock.
