Why do people feel the need to cheat MyLot?

I could understand if there was alot of money but there isn't. I am tired of seeing people copy and paste other people's responses that responded before them. I just reported a user for this. I am also tired of seeing the ones that just paste the same nonsense answer in every response they post. Let's all ban together and report these users that do this. When you find one post a discussion with that person's screen name in the title then more of us can report them as well. Let's free MyLot of all the cheaters!

Oh man, that bugs me. I retold a pretty personal story about my grandfather in a response once, and an hour later I found someone had copied it word for word. I reported them for abuse. What gives someone the idea that it's okay to take someone else's response and repost it? Do they think people aren't going to notice? It's insane!

It is really pathetic! One of my responses was copied word for word today, it kinda ticked me off as you can see. If we ban together and start new discussions with _________ is a MyLot Cheater then these people will do one of two things. They will either leave MyLot or they will stop cheating. Let's get rid of them so MyLot isn't paying people that cheat.

here we are more than 40,000 members, a large community. Here you can read interesting discussions but also stupid discussions or non-sense discussion. It is an utopia here to be always right! if we don't make a response to these people and to stupid posts, slowly we'll can to help mylot to go better.

there are a few threads for this and some have listed the nicks of the spammers. i need as i said in that thread, let us do our part by rating accordingly and reporting them to mylot but i do hope mylot is helping us help them too.

This problem seems to have suddenly appeared and in a short span has become a very prolific habit.
The new guidelines and updated earnings removed the benefit of posting 1 or 2 words, so now people are copying and pasting someone else's response in order to qualify on the grounds of length.
This is totally unacceptable and definitely needs to be stopped, otherwise the site and the honest members will suffer.

You know, this just proves how greedy people are. People will do anything for that next quick buck. Take for example one of the greediest shows on TV today...."Deal or No Deal". These people are so greedy. Sure, anyone would love a million dollars, but as they say, money is the root of all evil. I have seen so many discussions on here about "how do you make money on mylot?", "help me make money", "tell me how my posts can get more money".....it really sickens me....

Mylot will always have cheaters on it, because heaters just want to earn a lot of money without doing everything, just copy previous posts. They're like spam, we all have to free internet from them, but it's too difficult to do, and we can only report them and hope admins could ban them from mylot and every site where cheaters are.

People need to remember to also do a search first before starting a new topic. I had my topic stolen by someone else. They copied the exact title and got heaps of responses after the mylot update, but my discussion only had 1 reply which was created before the mylot changes.

I agree with you hundred per cent. Sometimes, people are asking or commending the same kind of question and responses. We can tolerate this to such an extent under the presumption that this is due to an oversight. But if people cut and paste the same thing here, then it's a different matter. We should catch them with evidences to put forth such as actually whose discussion subject it was before, the date etc. Or if we feel it's a duplication, don't reply them at all.

i think the very obvious reason is the pay. money will always motivate people into doing anything they can just to earn it the easy way. it defies the purpose of discussing the subject if someone will just post nonsense in a discussion just to earn a credit. i'm in! lets get rid of the cheaters!

And I could understand that if it was alot of money. However it is simply a few pennies! Trust me I need money pretty bad but I am not going around coping other people's responses and posting them as my own. That is really pathetic and unethic.

But the "money makers" have found a way around the new MyLot rules! They are now coping and pasting our responses instead of using their own. If you see this happening please report them. Thanks for the support!

well.. many people has been reporting this already and im about to repeat it again. I don't know if i should :(. Yea many people has been cheating here.. good thing mylot has changed the earning system where people cannot posts short answers and get money for it. I think they have changed it to words count on each posts. LIke yesterday i've posted 10 and i've got 90cents for it.. without posting heaps that's just great. i hope the spammers get nothing at all by posting one word answers..

I know and I am glad that MyLot changed the earnings too. The thing is the two that I have caught aren't posting one answer responses. One posts the same jibberish response which is about 3 lines long on every discussion he responds to. The other copies the longest response that has already been posted then pastes it as their own response. So they are posting more than just one or two word responses and they are making money for cheating. Keep reporting and maybe they will disappear! Thanks for the response!
