The first walk of the spring!!! I went to Broad Run Park, one of the five parks in the Parklands of Floyds Fork. It was a great time! The photo is at one of the overlooks.
This particular park has an ephemeral waterfall. That’s a fancy way of saying “it only shows up after a heavy rain.” It was dripping a little today. We’re supposed to have heavy rain this weekend, so I’ll hopefully go back afterwards and see it.
Meanwhile, it was above 60, I took my coat off and walked outside!
Hooray, spring is here!!!

@FourWalls We may have two the same day pouring rain and then bright sunshine. But spring and winter on the same day is pretty intriguing

We have four seasons here, many times we have them in the same day!

It feels so good, especially after a long winter.

That sounds like such a perfect way to welcome spring! Broad Run Park looks like a beautiful place to explore, and that ephemeral waterfall sounds so cool—I hope you get to see it in full flow after the rain! Enjoy the warmer weather and all the spring adventures ahead!

We’ll see what the weather brings. If it’s not severe I’ll try to make it back there.

So many parks I haven't seen in KY. I was raised in KY and lived in Lexington. We used to go to Natural Bridge, Sky Bridge, and of course hiking in the Red River Gorge.

We get severe weather during the spring here, and it’s predicted for the weekend. But I’ll take the sunshine and tossing the coats in the back of the car as a good trade off.

I remember so well when I lived in MN, the first day when most of the snow had melted and I could walk outside without gloves!
Here spring is very different, it comes in slowly a little at a time, a bit like the tide coming in because the waves (warm days) come - and then they seem to go again - and then come back a little warmer. And day by day there are a few more changes, not anywhere near so sudden!

We’re having a gradual onset this year. Normally we go from 0 to 60 faster than a sports car.

“When thunder roars, go indoors.” That’s our rhyming mnemonic about thunderstorms.
