I finished listening to The Dark Forest by Cixin Liu. It is the second book of the Three-Body Problem series. There are three books in the series. Big Warning: there is some violence. Semi-Spoiler Below. In this book, a man named Luo Ji is an astronomer and sociologist. He is sorta seeing a woman who he can’t remember her name. When they leave the apartment, there is a car accident. The car was supposed to hit Luo Ji, but hits the woman instead. Luo Ji gets knocked down by a biker. He learns about this and that he has to have protection everywhere he goes. He forced to attend a ceremony. The ceremony is to announce The WallFacer Project. He is announced as the fourth WallFacer. He rejects the job, but they won’t let it go. He leaves the ceremony and gets shot. He is okay because of bullet proof jumpsuit. He makes crazy demands, but in the end he is forced to work as WallFacer. When he does, he gets badly sick. He is put into hibernation. He later is woken up to another time and he is asked again to work as a Wallfacer. He ends up using another Wallfacer's idea and ends up convincing the aliens to stop advancing to Earth. I loved this book.
