Maybe its nerves

Good gravy. We headed over to the town next to us to a plant nursery and a visit to a bakery. On the way I stopped into our smaller grocery store with a request: last time I was in there the clerk had not given me the mark down price for the pint of ice cream I'd bought. The clerk gave me my money back. And I forgot my dragon cane in the shopping cart. I discovered that sad fact when I got out of the car at the plant nursery.
I zipped back to the grocery store. My guardian angels had been on the job. They directed somebody to give that cane to a store clerk. I almost hugged the guy who handed Dragon back to me. Surprised him. Whoops.
Got home to discover that Moxe pup had decided my forsythia plant babe was tasty. It's chomped. She then got the zoomies and dug up more yard. The currant bush is good sized so I pray for it to continue living after we get it planted.
We are headed to hubby's church to help set up tables and such- tomorrow night we are having a poetry reading for whoever and whomever wants to show up. Read your own work, read somebody elses, come listen or just eat a store cookie. There will be a very nice basket containing local honey for a door prize. Wow it has been a long, long time since I participated in a poetry reading. So maybe today has been nerves.

I'm glad you got your cane back even if you had to make a special trip to get it.
I almost left mine at the hospital when I went in for x-rays two weeks ago. The young man who had helped me onto and off of the table came running after us with it.
Forsythias are really hardy, as are currants. Both should be fine with a little tender loving care.
I hope everyone has a good time at the poetry reading.

@DaddyEvil I'm glad that hospital employee helped you. The forysthia is toast. It was just a leafy stick then most of that stick got chewed up. The currant looks fine.

@sallypup Put whatever is left of the stick underground. Water it and leave it alone. It could still sprout roots and, eventually, leaves and stems.

@DaddyEvil Okay. I left the remnant in the ground with its roots in the ground. Its been pretty rainy lately. Thanks for the good advice.

That's hilarious how he got surprised by the almost hug. I've almost done it in a few occasions myself. I'm glad you got your cane back.

Thanks @lillacskies You have been talking about people hanging onto their material possessions. My Dragon cane is one of a kind. I needed him back.

Have fun at the poetry reading. I was going to go a coffeehouse on the 14th that I was looking forward to, but since I will be in the city on the 13th, I probably don't want to go two days in a row It's really too far

@snowy22315 There are evening poetry gigs down the freeway about 25 miles from me. Down the freeway and congestion and night. No. I just have to say no though it would be good for me emotionally to be among other poets.

I'm glad you remembered your cane. I left mine at the Cleveland Clinic one time; and my SIL had to go fetch it for me. I hope the poetry reading goes well. Have a great day.
