Vaccines in both arms.

Dixie came to pick me up and we went for our vaccine. But everything was more difficult than what we thought. The health workers were on strike.
When health workers are on a strike in my country, they do not leave everuthing unattended but things are more difficult. Vaccines were put in another place. And we had to go at a different time.
So instead of looking for a not so good restaurant nearby, we came to my home and proceededto eat everything we found.
That´s when I am glad that I always have yummy snacks around
I steamed some broccoli, got out homemade mayo, salami, olives and tomatoes while Dixie made an awesome sallad with lettuce, avocados, bunch onions thinly diced and set on the table enough spices to make a good dressing.
I also had ice cream so we had a wonderful lunch for zero cost.
I now have a flu vaccine in one arm and another covid one in the other. The vaccines are free here. Is it like that in your country?

I'm glad you got the vaccines you needed.
Due to some heath issues, I can't ever get two shots at once like that. I get terribly ill...it's not worth it. The doctor just told me to only get one at a time, so that's what I do now. Not sure why I cannot tolerate two, but I just can't.

I´m very sorry. It seems that I can bear almost anything. I just get more side effects to whatever I get or have done but like a saying here, "bad weed does not die"
I´m not allergic to any antibiotic or seafood and I had the covid alone at home with only a horrible bronchitis that I blamed for my 50 years of smoking.

I'm pretty tough...I can take a lot and keep on going. But some meds just don't like me. I can't take penicillin or ampicillin, or any meds containing sulfa. Not allergic to any others that I know of. But for some reason, my body can only handle one shot at a time.

It still sounds like you and Dixie had a good day, even if the health workers made it more difficult than necessary. And the lunch you shared sounds delicious!
Yes, those shots are free for Pretty and I. Our insurance pays for them.

In my country insurance has nothing to do with vaccines. The government pays for all of them. During the pandemia, people from other countries around us came to Chile to get the vaccine as their countries did not have it.

@DaddyEvil It was. But we are proud we did it. Chile was the one South American country that managed well the pandemia.

@marguicha That sounds like a massive drain on your economy. I'm glad it worked out for you.

Most are not free here if you don't have insurance. But they do try to keep the cost down. Glad you managed to get them

In my country all vaccines are free except those that you have to have if you go to other countries. I only had to pay once for a vaccines against yellow fever when I went elsewhere on a holiday. We don´t have here either that or malaria or dengue.

It seems that the only vaccines that aren´t free here are the ones for bugs we don´t have.

@rakski All is free here. But this dose is first available to certain people (the elderly, the caregivers and people in public service).

I'm glad you got vaccinated. I believe they are free. I'm not sure. I never got it before. I've never had the flu in my life.

I did not have the free flue vaccines until the covid. I did not bother with them. But with the covid I discovered that I should take more care of myself.

@lilacskies During the pandemia, all hospitals were full with people with covid. They only took care of the other very urgent cases.

I read about the shingles vaccine for the first time here last year. I will ask Dixie to check on it as soon as I remember. We cannot get any other ailments at out age.

@marguicha The shingles vaccine is also very expensive in Hong Kong. But compare to their income, I think at least it is much more reasonable than here.

Glad you got vaccinated. I am not sure how things like that work since I am against vaccination at least for me,

I did not use flu shots on myself until the pandemia. Now I´m for them. I had covid after the vaccines came to be and there was a big change.

Yes, the vaccines are free here too. I'd still like to get a RSV vaccine. Have a good day.
