ToYou is similar to HungerStation where you can order food online if you are lazy enough to prepare food. Today, I had to order food online as I was lazy to prepare food and the supermarket near my area was still close when we passed by. It is true that is more economical to buy your groceries and cook your own food at home. But sometimes ordering your food online and having it delivered can also be economical. It really depends. What are your thoughts?

It is always cheaper to buy groceries and cook your own meals than to buy from any outside place. Add on a delivery fee and tip for the driver and you could have eaten for several days at home for the same price. You must be doing well now if you're willing to waste money ordering food delivered to your house.

The thing is when I cook my food, I somteimes don't know how partition the materials and oftentimes I get spoiled food in the end because of too much excess of the food I cook. So, I feel more guilty afterwards.

@Neil43 Oh, I see... A lot of the time I freeze leftover foods after I cook it so I can thaw it on a different day and won't have to cook as often. But I also don't mind eating leftovers so will have the same thing two or three days in a row. I like making extra food so I don't have to cook as often.

It's always cheaper to make your own food; but it's nice to splurge once and a while. Have a good day.

Trouble is, these days a person can really break the budget with the cost of eating out!

I agree that is healthier and safe to be preparing your own food at home.

It depends on what you make and what you buy. If we get a meal from Taco Bell it costs less than $20 but only lasts for a day. If you add one more twenty to it you could probably make a meal that lasts for a few days. We mostly cook but I live off slow cooker meals right now because we can set it and forget it mostly.

It is never more economical here to order food ready to eat and have it delivered, pay a delivery fee and a tip, etc. No thanks. I would rather just cook...and we just honestly do not hardly ever eat out. The prices are ridiculous, and I can make 2 or 3 meals out of what one delivered meal would be.

@Neil43 If a person plans some meals out ahead and watches sales, they can definitely save on food costs.

It's definitely a trade-off between convenience and cost! While cooking at home is often cheaper, sometimes the time saved and the treat of a delivered meal are worth it.

It is a very good idea to buy food online and get it delivered if it saves you money.
