Will she bite, will she not....

I uploaded a few images of a stray dog I feed a few weeks ago. She is an extremely well behaved STRAY ..Indian Pariah. If you offer her a biscuit, she picks it in such a way that her saliva never touches my hand. Then...I once fed two more of them...I never thought I will start loving them too. It was kinda temporary fun. I don't know when the younger one of the two stole my heart. She did. Fast forward.......5 or 6 months later.... the younger of the two new girls, met with an accident. She is limping and though she is able to stand on four legs, she tends to lift one of the legs...she is a brave one...not crying....or whining...even follows me around as usual. I am bleeding in my heart but with dad sick and bronchitis patient....I cannot do much. I badly want her in my home. But I am likely to go to assisted living facility, right? So by Sai baba's grace, I got the number of a good vet. Problem is, will she sit in the car, without disturbing the driver. Will she sit in auto (three wheeler) without disturbing the driver. Will she bite me if I hold her tight...anxiety is to be expected. With such short acquaintance, will she trust me enough....to let me take her to the vet. Right now, I am worried about her...and do not have a solution to this problem.

Dogs don't forget kindness. Perhaps she will co-operate.

There is always that fear ...of being left elsewhere in some unfamiliar surroundings now that she has broken her leg...nobody wanting her...that fear will override all other factors I feel. It does not cost much to treat her...but the issue is taking her there...

Dearheart? Is there a good vet who will go to your stray and look her over without you trying to take her anywhere? I'm worried you will get bitten.

None that I know. I am contemplating tying a stick to her leg...a scale....for a week and see whether it works..

@DaddyEvil Oh.... well, I already changed the plan ...tomorrow, if possible, I will pick the little idiot in my arms and take her to a clinic closer to our home...they may or may not have any diagnostic equipment...at least they will guide us to some other place. I will take another kid with whom this girl is friends with. So we will try something...I definitely don't want her limping for the rest of her life...THOUGH THAT MAYBE GOOD FOR HER... Kinda, she won't chase vehicles...she normally does that. I don't know I want to help her...heart is heavy.

@vandana7 If you try that, please be careful. A dog might not mean to bite you but if you hurt them by accident, they will bite and then feel sorry about it afterward. When I was a pre-teen, my youngest brother and I were bike riding and one of our dogs was running along with us. We were riding on the country road (dirt and gravel) in front of our house when a car whizzed past us. Of course my brother and I moved off the road but the dog didn't and got hit. The car didn't even slow down. My brother went to see how badly the dog was hurt and the dog took a chunk out of Mark's arm but then whimpered, looked down and started thumping his tail. Mark didn't mean to hurt him by looking at his injury but the dog still reacted to the pain.

Try putting a leash on her and see how well she leads. If she does good with that you have a good chance. Most vets have muzzles they can put on the dog so it can't bite. For safety he can do that. But she might stop limping before you take her.

Eva ...I love you. Seriously...I love you...for telling me that she may stop limping before I take her. As to leash, I tried before, hoping to take her on walks....but she barks endlessly with that. She is not the fighting type of dog, nor biting type of dog. But she chases cars and two wheelers and barks at them...and she barks at goats and rams, and she barks at other dogs in her turf (what she believes to be hers). I have taken her to my favorite dog, both have been pretty cordial, though my favorite didn't seem to have invited her over. But no fighting... The older dog ...she is more ferocious...apparently she has Afghan hound mix...diluted, with pretty large eyes........but she can be a food stealer...and fight for food...even with this younger one. So I have to wait till the younger one finishes what is served on her plate, as other one can scare away this one. This makes it difficult for me to escape being stalked by the younger one.

@vandana7 Jill doberman limped here for 2 days and I couldn't find any reason for it. Then she just stopped. Sorry she doesn't lead well but they do need to learn it. It's not something natural.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this. If you can get a lead on her, perhaps you could wrap a scarf around her muzzle so she can't bite. I hope some solution comes to you.

It's incredibly compassionate of you to care for these stray dogs. It's clear you have a deep connection with them, especially the injured one.
