Worst Birthday Ever.

No, it's not my birthday but my friend's. I messaged her the other day to greet her, and last night, she called me. My friend told me that it was her worst birthday ever. She told me that she has a lot of debt to pay nowadays, and she is trying to find work, but she cannot find any. Her debts are mostly those new online apps that are very rampant today. I wonder how she was approved for loans when she does not have work. Her husband is the breadwinner, and they have three kids, and of the three is off to college too, like my daughter. I remember her telling me that her daughter will take exams in those big-time universities here. They do not celebrate her birthday outside since she is trying to save up. What was she thinking, getting loans without her husband knowing it?

She was probably thinking they could pay the loans back when she found a job but, that isn't happening so she's worried about them now. It happens to people everywhere. They are more optimistic when they should be thinking pessimistically. It's a shame when it happens, but companies get rich by offering those loans knowing people can't pay them off. Did you suggest she talk to her hubby and see what they could do about paying the loans off?

Oh my, if she don't have job, she could not pay. She will get bombarded with phone calls and text messages, worst, harassments from the loan agents.

That's very sad. It's never a good idea to keep things from your spouse.

I understand. Unpaid loans make life a hell. I wonder how they would repay.Better avoid taking loans as long as possible.

@rakski If you don't have, money; it is,better to live a very simple life than borrowing money.

That sounds like a really tough situation for your friend. It's understandable that she's feeling so down on her birthday.

Oh my God. With finances, people should take calculated risks...well some say not to take even calculated risks because calculations can also falter.
