Hello, back again. So my life in the last two and a half years has changed big time. Back in December of 2022, my father was at the point where he was falling a lot and also found it hard to walk. He wound up going to the hospital after a fall. From there he went to rehab. I went with my mother and my brother numerous times to see him at the hospital. When he went to rehab I went to see him in the morning with my mother and again in the afternoon with my son, his girlfriend and their baby. That night I got really sick. I wound up getting covid. That was horrible. I could not go to see my father for about two weeks. After I tested negative twice I was feeling good and I was happy that I can go see my father. So I made plans to go see him on New years day 2023. I was getting dressed and my brother called me and said that the rehab called and told him my father passed away. That devastated me to my core. Me and my brother had to go to the rehab to claim his body. I looked at him laying in the bed, he looked like he was sleeping. I was in shock. I could not get over the fact that I couldn't see him before he died. And to this day I still cannot get past that. It bothers me everyday. Let me end this post here. There will be more on my saga.

I'm sorry that happened. I hope, with time, you'll be able to cope with the loss of your father.

I am sure I will at some point. But for me, even though it is only a little over two years, it still cuts me deep.

@inertia4 I understand. My mother passed in 2002 and I still miss her and think about her all the time.

"Dealing with Grief and Losing a Loved One: Honoring Their Memory Through Memories, Pictures, and Stories" Dealing with grief and losing a loved one is never easy to deal with, but we have all the memories, the pictures, and the stories they shared, so we just have to do things to honor their memory. Remembering the good times and celebrating their life can help us find peace and comfort. Whether it's sharing stories with friends and family, looking at old photos, or doing something special that they enjoyed, these small acts can keep their spirit alive in our hearts. By focusing on the love we had for them and the joy they brought into our lives, we can find a way to move forward while still cherishing their memory.
