American Airlines plane catches fire at Denver International Airport

It appears they had to evacuate the passengers to the wings of the plane. The info is still coming out...but this surely does make a person wonder--is this all happening from lack of proper maintenance, or? There have just been too many instances the past few months concerning planes, crashes, near misses, and safety.
Any opinions out there?

This whole country is falling apart with you know who at the helm. The Trumpophiles were certainly warned. Not our fault they wouldn't listen to common sense.

Last week, Musk was begging ''retired'' air traffic controllers to come back to work. I guess that's not working out too well!

Something has changed, but I don't think federal layoffs had anything to do with it. I mean while crazy, something else has to have been happening well before trump ever took office.

When the chips are down, people tend to look at all sides of the problem.

I know they claim it's still safer than car travel, but hey, this is wildly concerning. Every week there is another mess like this one.

From what I have been reading in the news and online in general, many people are not flying much now. Cost and safety issues seem to be the reason.

Flying doesn't sound like a good option right now.

I don't really want to. I have flown much over the course of my lifetime, but it feels like it just wouldn't feel right now, somehow.

@MarieCoyle It would be best not to travel right now. Things are not looking good. There is no need to take such a risk unless it's mandatory and you have no choice at all.

I wonder if it ever will be taken care of. Very concerning.

I don’t know if I would be standing on the wing with the plane on fire. Thankful that there were no injuries.

I thought of that, too. It's a long way to jump to the ground if you would have to, not to mention, it was on concrete. I would no doubt break something important!

If I have to ever go overseas, I will travel by Ocean Liner. I really don't want to fly anymore.

You are not the only one. But with times being what they are and so much of the world being in turmoil, people are traveling less.

Didn't Trump have something to do with eliminating some of the air traffic controllers??? I could be wrong.

I can't help but wonder if it's a maintenance issue. So many ''incidents'' lately.

I have no idea. But a person has to wonder, will any actions even be taken until hundreds of people die at once? Is that what it's going to take to fix it all?
