It's Dol (festival of colors) according to Bengali calendar today. The same festival will be celebrated tomorrow as Holi by the people of Hindi speaking states ( following Vikram and Shaka calendars). It's a holiday for us all . It's the day when revellers smear colored powder on one another's cheeks. Also liquid colors are sprayed on others using hand operated plastic pumps. It's a day of fun, frolic , friendship and festivity. It is also observed decently in the the families and schools where students and young boys and girls touch the feet of their teachers and parents with color powder. Our children have returned and have had their brisk scrubbing bath. But colorful spots will take longer to go away from their skin!
