She has a broken toe ... update on my Chichi.

I don't know if it is a good news or bad news. For now, we are sure it is not a fracture of thigh or any other part...except toe. By god, it must pain, and she must hurt as hell. But she is a brave girl, I didn't see any tears around her eyes, after the first day... She seems to have taken it all in her stride... If it was a baby, we would be turning world upside down. Here, she won't let us do anything, and there is always the fear of being bitten. So we are wary too. Guilty of not doing enough. Worry is worry....the registered medical practitioner gave tablets (of humans) for reducing pain and helping her sleep....he said ..she should recover some by a fortnight....gave it with some chicken and then gave her coconut water...so that she doesn't remember the taste. Darn these sweet fur babies....they can make you feel so guilty about everything for no fault of yours. Well, I left her sleeping yesterday...have to go out again...don't know how she is today... Do you like the name I selected for her? Chichi...she responds to that...she thinks that is her name....

I'm glad it's "only" a broken toe. That should heal fairly quickly. Much quicker than a thighbone. Chichi is an interesting name. Did you ask Govinda if he minded a dog being named after him?

I was not thinking of Govinda... I was just making that tsk tsk type of sound, and she adopted that name...even other kids now call her chichi...because she responds to that...weirdo...LOL I like her very very very much. Though the other one remains my all time favorite. She shows me her belly on thursdays....lets me play so much....pity I don't have much time then...but I do spend some time with her then, and she looks sad when I leave...and bends her head to one side, as if asking me, you are going already? She gives me shake hand, ..that one is a gorgeous girl. This one is too....but if I had to choose, I would opt for that one...she is a quiet sorta personality...no confrontation variety. This one will bark at everyone, chase cars, etc. Difficult to control. Cute but difficult to control. These are all old strays....all above four years....so...difficult to train too.

@vandana7 I'm glad you enjoy their friendship and still wish you could have one to take home with you. Of course she looks sad when you leave... she knows you don't belong just to her and she's sad she has to share you with others. All dogs are like that when we go to work or just leave them home for a while. They worry we'll forget them while we're gone.

That's a nice name for her. It can be so difficult to help sick animals. They don't like to make it easy for us.

I have a picture of her somewhere...I will upload.... Like little ones they cannot tell us what they are feeling....but with little ones we are safe...we won't be bitten...here, taking her to a vet is a tough proposition. We have very few vets out here....folks here adjust to everything...rather expect their animals to adjust to everything.

@JudyEv There is slight improvement...lucky its not a fracture...but maybe something that hurt her toe, maybe some glass splinter or something else. Maybe a thorn...I have to watch ...had a really great day with the other dog.......she just likes to show me her belly and loves it when I rub her neck chest, under ear......as I move to leave, she again tries to get me to do that...almost 15 minutes of petting...the girl is awesome.

I did not want to give any of the standard names. Out here, most of the names for dogs are western names. LOL. She is almost 4 or so, so it was a bit of a surprise she slipped into the new name for her. LOL I too hope she feels good sooner than later...they are so cute.

@wolfgirl569 Her companion, who maybe a retriever cross, is called poochi now...and she too has slipped into that....I am shocked...these two have been street dogs for more than 4 years....nobody gave them names so far?

@vandana7 Some learn very quickly what their name is. I have more than one name for a lot of my critters and they know them

She continued to limp today...she cares a lot for me, and hopes someday I will take her in...at least I think she thinks like that...but I cannot tell her, I am going to an assisted living facility in a couple of years where they do not permit pets...and if I had to have pets, all the 10 I feed would be with me. LOL

She is, after all, a stray dog...we cannot read what is in her mind, can we, she might fear that now she is limping, so we must be wanting to put her to sleep or dump her elsewhere...don't know.

I think I have a big heart for dogs too. LOL. They understand it so fast..........that is weird. The moment they see me, they start wagging their tails and walking behind me...its like a procession on roads somedays.. dog pied piper LOL Lucky, my favorite ones have not fought among themselves....if they did I wouldn't know what I would do...a little bit of fighting is always there, but not the serious stuff.

@vandana7 My kids say that dogs just seem to love me...we are a dog-loving family. Several have allergies to cats, so having an inside cat isn't possible since we visit back and forth. I am sure you are doing your best to try to help feed and give out some love to those dogs. Good for you, I know it isn't easy.
