I should bring someone to fix my dishwasher.

My dishwasher does not work well. I asked Marco to clean it and then I did some extra cleaning myself with vinegar. But nothing happened. And as i age (a year each month) it is more difficult to wash the dishes and the pots and pans. I hope someone really knows how to fix it and I don´t have to hate myself every time I go to the kitchen. Basically, I think that the dishwasher is dirty. It has detergent that should have been cleaned out. It happened when Claudia used a detergent that was not liquid to wash her dishes. If it can´t be fixed, I´ll just throw it away. I feel that I could use that space in made more useful things. A couple of drawers would make me quite happy. Definitly, I would not name my dishwasher. It doesn´t deserve a name.

I hope it can be fixed. If not, it surely doesn't deserve a name.

I only give names to those gadgets that really help. Juanita is my washing machine and this gadget I just showed you is called by me "the magic arm". The poor maids have to learn the names of them when they help me.

@marguicha That is hilarious! If you ever get a robot vacuum, what will you name it? Those are cute things! I recommend them!

@lilacskies It will be difficult. I already named one of my heaters (the best one) R2D2.

Maybe you can wash the dishes with hands as you wait.

I do that but I don´t like it. My legs hurt if I´m standing for too long at the sink.

You may have to pay a real repairman to fix it. I haven't used our dishwasher in about 20 years for washing dishes but still use the top of it as extra counter space. I'm positive the dishwasher wouldn't work anymore. The hoses in it will all be dried and brittle by now.

There are things that you need more as you grow older. I did not mind washing dishes before but now my legs hurt when I´m standing for too long a time at the sink.

How old is the dishwasher, Marga? It may be just tired out. And of course, like any appliance, they can wear out. I would be lost without mine...I appreciate it more than ever, as I have to try to keep any excess germs that want to invade us from my son, so he doesn't get sicker. But I don't run it every day, it takes 2 entire days to fill it. It costs less water to run my dishwasher than it does to wash dishes by hand. Besides, I truly hate seeing dishes/pots/pans in the sink. I want them washed and put away, and ready for the next round.

I bought my first dishwasher when my husband was ill. It is a wonder when you want cleaner dishes. But after many years it was not working any longer and Claudia gave me her own dishwasher second hand. She had not used it well.
