In Praise of Moringa

It is moringa season for us. Most of our moringa trees are bearing sticks ( drum sticks, as they are known in some quarters). I decided to pluck them early when they are still tender. They grow in size rather fast and develop seeds within. They begin to lose taste to some extent. On the other hand, its leaves contain even more benefits. Need I describe the benefits of this tree ? In the countryside people generally take moringa leaves to cure anaemia. There are definitely many more. I decided to explore in Google. It gave a list of two dozens. For myself I particularly selected four of them. It contains anti diabetes, anti blood pressure, anti arthritis , and anti oxidant properties. I'm not listing them all here. You may check them for yourself. A moringa tree carries a huge blessing. Plant one if you have a little place where you can. It doesn't need much care. You will never regret for planting a branch of moringa.

I know drumsticks are a type of vegetable but know little else about it. I just checked and moringa won't grow where I live. It gets too cold during the winter here for it to survive.

That is why I say, east or west, India is the best. We get to eat the best of foods, Americans are left staring in disbelief.

I think you all maybe getting some in your stores...they cut the drumsticks into pieces, and pack them. I do, for a couple of months.
