Reduction of social media use by teens in China

There are plans to control teenage exposure to social media and gaming in China, a move that is aimed at enabling learners to concentrate on studies. I think that will also mean reduced market for their communication gadgets such as tablets, laptops and mobile phones. It is believed that users of social media platforms in China is dominated by young people between the age of 13 and 30 years.

13 is very young. usually when people ban something, we want it even more.

That is now the funnier bit of it. Anything that is banned tends to create more curiosity hence use..

Teenagers do spend too much time online and often also get into trouble so doing less perhaps will give them a chance to find other interests,

That is true, but at the same time I find it difficult to understand how they will avoid something they are so much attached to..
