So many tornadoes

I'm still up watching the weather for the state of Alabama, 4-5 tornadoes have touched down. One is just south east of me. That's the same one heading to Oxford where most of my family lives. Another tornado is coming right behind in the same areas. I'm so sleepy but I'm not going to sleep for a while. I hope everyone in the next states over are getting prepared. Stay safe all.

Do tornadoes generally move East? I have not been in one in a long time.

In general, tornados in the US move from southwest to northeast... or west to east. That doesn't mean they all will move that way but in general they do.

@DaddyEvil Plus just need flat land, bumps ruin their energy, West does not see lots of tornado's because to many hills and mountains and California is nothing but one tall building so its really rare here.

@crossbones27 No, tornados need something to cause the air to start circling or they couldn't form. In my part of Missouri, that's usually hills or buildings. As long as the wind hits them right, it can cause the circling to start and a tornado forms.

Stay safe, hope you have a good basement. That's actually one of my bucket list. Go to the south drink moonshine in basement while tornado hits. Just kidding, but I do not know how I know this, but many do. What did the Marine Corps teach me? Trying to make you smile.

I'm glad you and your family are all still safe and hope that continues. Hopefully, people still in the path of the tornados get to a safe place.
