Seven years later but I still love my hair.

. I used to braid my hair every month for some years after highschool. But then after finishing the university I got tired of plaiting. So I stopped. A friend advised me to shave my hair because I was tired of plaiting. I thought to myself that if I shave then it will mean I will have to be patient and grow my hair again when a time comes that I want to plait again. So I didn't shave and didn't plait. Well, my hair has been breaking often and seems stagnant too. I know plaiting helps it grow. But it has also been breaking because of going to salons that mishandled my hair but I won't let this happen anymore. This photo was taken back in 2017 or 2018 because it is hard to know the exact year between this two years. My hair in the photo is longer than it currently is now. But I still love my hair no matter what it has gone through. How has your week started? It rained heavily last night. My neighbor fetched lots of rain water. She gave me some in the morning. I'm so grateful. I didn't wake up to fetch in the night because of how cold it was. I have cold allergy and I sneeze a lot.

I used to braid Pretty's hair before bed when she was little. I hated trying to get snarls and tangles out if I forgot to braid it or was too tired to braid it before she went to sleep. Now, she braids it herself before going to bed. We both have long hair now and I keep mine in a low pony tail so it doesn't get tangled when I sleep. We both have curly hair but mine is curlier than hers. Once in a while I'll get a tangle in my hair and have to ask her to help me get the tangle out. After that major storm went through the US it's been cold again where I live but is supposed to get warmer next week. That will be nice. Winter is almost over here, thank goodness!

I do plait mine before sleeping too. That formula of braiding before sleeping always works to keep the hair in good condition. My hair gets tangled much when wet so I use a hair conditioner so it is easy to comb. Glad you have pretty to help. Say hi to her. Winter will come again in December. Glad you are expecting warmer temperatures. It rained here again Monday night. It's now Tuesday morning and it is very cold.

@mildredtabitha I use conditioner in my hair every time I shower, too. It doesn't always mean I can comb it after I've dried it, though. Yes, winter comes here in November or December, too. You should be expecting spring soon, too.

@DaddyEvil spring? We have only two seasons here. Floods or drought, sunshine or rain. But nowadays times have changed because it rains in months it never used to rain before.

You are a very pretty young woman, no matter how you fix your hair, Mildred. Many people like to rinse their hair with rain water, it makes it so soft.

Thank you very much for the compliment. Rain water? I didn't know it makes hair soft.

@mildredtabitha Yes, it does. Both my grandmothers would put out a clean pail or two when it rained to collect the rain water to do the final rinse on our hair. I don’t know the science behind it, but it truly does work!

@MarieCoyle wow! I have plenty rain water now. Perhaps I will do so when I wash my hair next week. This is a very simple tip. I'm glad you shared.

You have very pretty hair. I can imagine it would be a nuisance having to continually plait it.

Thank you very much. Sitting in the salon for hours to have it plaited is what I dread doing. So I do the plaiting myself. Just one or two lines on the head to keep it in good condition while sleeping.
