St. Patricks Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day and top of the morning to you all. Are you wearing green today? I am 
We had some very heavy rain and wind overnight and this morning is starting out dismal. But, the week ahead looks decent and warmer temperatures look promising.
I'm of Irish heritage so today is a day of celebrating for us. Traditional meal of corned beef and cabbage is for dinner (with potatoes of course). It's all going in the slow-cooker which will fill the house with mouth watering aromas all day long.
My oldest daughter made a few loaves of Irish Soda bread over the weekend and she gave me a loaf. I had some yesterday for breakfast and I'm having more this morning with my coffee. Irish Soda bread is one of my favorites and maybe it's because we only have it once a year.
I don't have any big plans for today but I am going to watch the parade on tv and am a little disappointed that I can't find the New York St. Patricks parade on any of my streaming services. New York has one of the best parades and I remember going many years with my dad. It was our yearly tradition and that's probably where I get my love of parades. So, I'm resigned to watching a local parade which won't be as good but should be entertaining anyway.

I never had cornbread with corned beef and cabbage but it does sound really good. I love cornbread

My grandparents were from Ireland and I have a first cousin who lives there. Her parents (my aunt & uncle) had dual citizenship and would travel back and forth to visit their daughter and grandkids. I had always hoped to visit there one day.

Sounds like a nice day. We are having corned beef and cabbage. It is cooling now on the table. Smells delicious. I hope you enjoy the parade and have a good day.

@Marilynda1225 Yes, a nice stew would be my preference also.
But we are moving out of stew weather it feels like.
Tonight is T-bone steak night here.

I would rather enjoy a nice stew but corned beef and cabbage is our once a year traditional meal.
As for the Irish Soda bread, I'm really enjoying it and will be sorry when it's gone.

i remember i bought myself a green eyeshadow and fell in love with it. i wore occassionally green before and later but that was the moment when it happened. love at first sight. i need to have some green colour around me. if not clothes, then other things
