I shouldn't check my email before sleep. Do you have the same policy?

I did that to see if i was sent some surveys. And there was an email from my dentist, the bill from Friday.
I didn't open it, i don't want to get stressed but i hate that i look at it. Now i will be restless or have similar dreams. He sent the bill at 8 p.m. This clinic always shocked me when sending their bills by email and at strange hours.
Ah...

You are right. Nice policy. It would be nice to check such things every morning.

I do open at bed time or whenever. Maybe the clinic has the bills set up to automatically send out. If it is a bill I can see how it would be disturbing to you.

I only check my email if someone tells me they're sending something... I might look in it once a week or once every two weeks.
I definitely don't get bills in my email. I tell dentists and doctors I don't have an email address.

@grenery8 My dental and doctors are usually free. My insurance pays them... I still don't want notifications from them coming in that way, though. I'd never see them in time. The fewer ways they can contact you, the fewer ways they can tell you that you owe them money.

that's great. i am connected to mine email, have most things there but still, this was a shock. other shock was the next day, finding out the bill was higher than i expected
. this is a private dentist and thinks of himself to be very modern. you are clever not giving them your email address

@DaddyEvil that is true though, i hate calling them sometimes. if they answer, ok but if i need to call several times, my whole day is spent only on this. i have insurance dentist too, changed her last year just, i feel goosebumps when she told me if some tooth troubles me, it should go out and that option isn't good with me.

Yup, before bedtime is no time to check email unless you are waiting for some good news.

I totally get why you’re feeling uneasy about it. Unexpected mails, especially at odd hours, can be stressful. Perhaps the clinic’s system sends emails automatically, but it still feels intrusive. If it’s weighing on your mind, opening it sooner might help ease the anxiety. That way, you’ll know what you’re dealing with instead of imagining the worst. I check my mails before going to bed and try to resolve anything if needed. It helps to get better sleep than feeling anxious all the time. I also like a morning with less mails and stressful things. Well, everyone has their own preferences. You relax and enjoy the day!

it was very intrusive. i had to watch some fun series so i could calm before my sleep. if i'm thinking too much about something, my sleep and dreams are horrible. other stressful thing was opening email next day and finding out the bill was higher than i expected. hm. thank you. relax as well
i admire you for reading your email before your sleep
