Yawn. Another commercial plane almost crashes.

I am a bit grumpy tonight. Tonight's gig was something of a sh*t show, for reasons I'll describe when I dang well feel like it. But I have an extra $130 in my pocket, and I will invest it conservatively when I get the chance. I have flown into LaGuardia airport (or however it's spelled) countless times , as I have family in new York. I have never experienced a wing strike incident. I gather one happened yesterday, but the plane landed safely, and was able to taxi to the terminal. What has happened to our infrastructure? and what can we do about it?
The wing of a Delta Airlines plane hit the runway during an unstable landing at LaGuardia Airport on Sunday night.

Someone needs to fix this problem and fast, before a lot of people are killed. Of course I am no expert on plane safety and won't pretend I know things I don't. But something is terribly wrong.

@TheHorse Most definitely. Sadly, I don’t see any end in sight.

@MarieCoyle I just spoke with my lawyer friend in DC. Like me, he is a former Liberal who became more Conservative, until Trump entered the picture. He thinks that America will survive.

@Marilynda1225 We have only ourselves to blame. I blame our educational system. But I do not have a solution.

@TheHorse US is a powerful country. If something goes wrong, I am sure it will go back to its right track.

Either less trained people are manning the Infra. Or getting less pay or hikes. Or may be operational costs are being slashed. May be a combination of all of the above !

@TheHorse Complacency and lack of prioritisation may be? No easy solutions but not impossible either!

It's odd. I'd think supporting our infrastucture would be a high priority. I guess we have only ourselves to blame.

It's simple there has to be a new mode of transportation

@TheHorse hang gliding just have to go without any luggage. Or perhaps like in the cartoons some sort of contraption with wings that flap and a propeller.

Yeah. This one was apparently able to taxi to the gate. They'll inspect the wing. I don't know what protocol is beyond that.

It does not say, and probably should not, but I am guessing this is pilot error? Sorry your gig was rough.

We'll see what they find out. Could have been some kind of windshear.

Am I wrong in thinking that with an aeroplane anything can go wrong anytime anywhere?

Overall, air travel is supposedly safe. Things have changed in the last couple of months, but it's still probably safer to be in a commercial airliner than in a car.

Regular these days. I don’t feel safe on planes
