Catastrophe averted

We bought a new desk top computer at Christmas and it works well, but yesterday I had to log in and couldn't remember the pin number. I don't think we've had to use it since we bought it. Robert worked with me the majority of yesterday and last night but just couldn't get it to work. This morning, I found a paper with the pin number, and it worked, praise God. Tecnology is wonderful but can sure be a pain at times. Robert was going to come over today on his lunch break to work on it and have dinner with us, but he's awfully busy at work, so I'll put a plate of food in the freezer for him to have another time. But I'll have plenty. Any of you myLoters want to come for lunch?

I've stopped locking my laptop. I was afraid I'd forget the pin number and be locked out for good. (I've never forgotten my pin number before but you never know. ) I'd love to have lunch with you. I'll be right over.

At least you had it written down. Mine is easy to remember and I do it automatically. But one day my mother wanted to use my computer and I blanked on the pin number for a second.

Pin numbers are the bane of my life sometimes. I write them down now in a file on the computer. It's the only way I can cope with them all.

You might be the closest myLoter (near Richmond?), but you'd be welcome, for sure. PS it was good, leftovers tomorrow.

When we got our first computer my Dad told us to get a notebook to keep track of all passwords and anything else we need when we log into sites. We have 4 or 5 of them now. We got our first computer in 1998. Glad you found your pin #

Me, too. Funny thing is I really did remember to wright it down and it was exactly where it should be (in a folder in a drawer labeled computer.) I don't know why I didn't recognize it at first.
