Could cooking oil be remedy for sticky keys of my desktop’s keyboard?

I recently bought a desktop computer to help me with my writing career. Though refurbished, it is a complete unit Coi5 CPU, 8gb of ram and 500gb HDD with monitor, keyboard and mouse. But for the keyboard, I am yet to have any problem with the other parts. The keys keep on sticking in and this irritates as it slows down the typing. As I was contemplating its replacement, a dude around here told me I should lubricate my keyboard with cooking oil. The keys will stop sticking. I feel I should give the idea a try before going for a new keyboard! Any objection?

Uhm... you could do that but understand that cooking oil isn't meant for something like a keyboard. Cooking oil will slowly change to become more like glue and ruin the keyboard over time. It will also make cleaning the keyboard more difficult and begin to smell like rancid grease.
If you can, get a silicone grease or spray and use it sparingly. There are several different brands. Just make sure it says silicone lubricant on it. If you get the grease type, you can use a toothpick to spread it gently around your keyboard. To me, the silicone spray is easier to use. Just remember, use it lightly.
I hope this information helps.

I do not think you should put cooking oil in your keyboard or even on your keyboard.
