The Damage Humanity Does

The world's tallest tree, Hyperion, located in California's Redwood National Park, is off-limits to hikers due to the ecological damage caused by visitors. Standing 380 feet tall and estimated to be 600 to 800 years old,
Hyperion’s exact location is kept secret, and trespassing can result in fines up to $5,000 and six months in jail. The park service aims to protect the surrounding ecosystem, which has suffered from trampling. Visitors are encouraged to see other accessible redwoods instead, as Hyperion's height is not easily appreciated from the ground.
Humans won't stop destroying and still break into the protected area.
And just to capture a photo to post on dumb social media.
Shameless.

Humans have already done a lot of damages to the nature and will continue to do so. We all suffer at the end.

Yep. Human life will go extinct and humans will be solely responsible for this

I love that picture. I want to get lost in it. I would love to make it back to the Redwoods before the end of my life. When I think of the places I have been the Redwoods always come to mind. I hope that much of it has survived okay after the fires. I hope that those breaking into places they don't belong get hefty fines or jail time.

@RebeccasFarm ........I enjoyed going there years ago and would love to see it again. I get a newsletter from a foundation that is helping to keep it up after the fires ravaged a lot of it.

I think it’s the “human nature” that goes back to Adam and Eve: tell a hundred people “don’t,” and at least ten of them WILL. Whether it’s “don’t go outside in a tornado warning” or “don’t touch that tree.”

That is a shame indeed. I hope the tree remains hidden from people. Poor Hyperion. I love trees.
