A video clip of our pregnant quenda. It won't be long now!

The little pregnant quenda was out on the lawn yesterday and I was taking photos of her. I accidentally hit the record button. The first half was of the camera swinging around but then I focussed on the quenda and there are a few seconds showing the poor quenda's tummy being pushed this way and that by her babies. They must have been playing football in there. Vince converted it to a YouTube clip and I’ll put a link here. He cut out my voice thankfully. I had no idea I sounded so awful. I don’t think I’ll ever speak again!

I caught the 'action' in error. I didn't realise I had the camera on record and was getting mad because it wouldn't take a photo for me! lol

That sounds like an amazing capture! Watching the little ones move must have been such a cool moment. And trust me, we all think our voices sound weird on recordings—you're not alone! Can’t wait to see the video! :)

Austalia has some unique animals. It's also called a bandicoot but it's not the same as the bandicoot you have in India. I believe yours is a pest.

I will bet she litters any day. Those babies are rough on her. How many do they have in a litter?

Wikipedia says 1 to 6 offspring but usually 2-4. Hopefully we might see the young ones before we leave here.

We have seen the Papa. He doesn't have a tail - probably got bitten off in a fight. There is one with a shorter tail but there probably isn't two males in the same territory. The average litter is 2 to 4.

They are also called bandicoots but are different to the Indian bandicoot. By all that activity I would think she is close to having them.

Yes, that's true. Funny how evolution went one way in Australia once we were cut off from everywhere else.
