Tranquility

When typing ‘tranquility’ into a search engine, you seem to always end up with pictures of an ocean or body of water. I suppose the calming effect of the peaceful ocean waves gently washing up the beach could be described as tranquil.
I enjoy walks by the beach but also walking along the riverside. You are so many different things inland, but I do miss the fresh sea air.
By the river I will see oystercatchers and various other wild birds. They call out to one another as they soar in the sky. There is life all around us.

I remember walking near Lake Pontchartrain in Metarie and being in awe of seeing the waters of the lake close by.

That sounds so peaceful! There’s something about being near water—whether it’s the ocean or a river—that just brings a sense of calm. And the sounds of nature make it even better. Do you prefer the beach or the riverside?
