Hummus for lunch.

I have been eating snacks lately instead of cooking.
As summer ends, I´m not sure if the day will be warm or chilly. And I don´t like to eat anything warm if the day turns out to be more like summer.
Today I had to make hummus because tomorrow Martín will come for lunch with his GF.
As they will probably enter the house and start with the puzzle immediatly, I decided to have hummus to start with. Martín can also make a guacamole and I have tiny buns.
I made enough hummus for tomorrow and for today so that I won´t have to cook.
What are you having for lunch?

I don't have any specific meals I make about one large meal a day and then eat some snacks. I had fried chicken livers, gravy, and tater tots.

I haven´t had chicken livers lately. I like them fried in a very hot skillet and marinated with crished garlic. Then it is fried outside and juicy inside.

I am often not keen on hummous. Then I will just eat lots of it. Very strange

I only like homemade hummus. And made with home cooked chickpeas.

@Danielclark691 Some years ago I made my hummus for a party and a friend of mine brought her own too. After the guests had gone, she told me that my hummus had lasted minutes while hers had been eaten slowly. Comparing notes, the only differences in the recipes were that I soak my chickpeas instead of buying cans and that I add more tahini than what the recipe calls for.

Today I am making a cake so I don't feel like cooking anything else. I think I will have a PBJ sandwich

Peanut butter is very American. I have never been able to like it much. I prefer other sandwiches.

Pretty heated up something from the freezer for me to eat at lunch yesterday. It was Shepherd's Pie I made a couple of weeks ago. YUM!

I LOVE Shepherd´s Pie. If I´m alive after Trump goes away and if he leaves the US livable, I might come to see you and you can make one for me.

@marguicha I'd love to cook for you!
I wish trump and musk would leave things alone. A lot of retirees depend on Social Security. We've paid into it our entire lives and deserve to have money to live on after we retire.

I have discovered that the same brand does not have the same kind of pizzas or burgers in different countries.

@marguicha You are right since the soft drinks in Panama were better tasting than in Louisiana which is watered down.

I haven´t had fried fish for some time and love it. Leticia used to fry it to perfection.

It is very easy to make. Specially if you have the wonderful blender I have, the one I use to make mayo too.

I bought the puzzle for the pandemia and it took me 3 months to put it together. Then Carolina (my eldest granddaughter took it to Claudia´s house and she put it together with Sofía in one day. No comments

Hummus and guac sound like a great low-effort but delicious combo! Perfect for a chill day with a puzzle. I’ve been snacking a lot too instead of cooking—sometimes it’s just easier. Not sure what I’m having for lunch yet, maybe something quick.

@marguicha Ooh, that sounds delicious! Avocado paste with buns? I'm intrigued! And a rice omelette sounds like the perfect follow-up. Enjoy your yummy meal!

I really do like hummus, but my son doesn't care for it. So if I make it, it's when other family or friends are here.
Guacamole, yum~~ I haven't had that in a long time.

I read about the hummus just now, to see how long you can keep it, and you can keep it in the fridge for over a week. I´ll tell Martín to make the guacamole tomorrow. He has made some here twice and he really makes a good one.
