Gramophones were in vogue during my childhood. I am not sure if anyone has them these oays what with strides made when it comes to recorded music. From long playing records, to video tapes, to casettes, CDs and now loads of music on youtube mostly free there is no reason why anyone should possess any gadgets to listen to music. In my house there are CDs, tapes and a tape deck but they are all languishing. What is your story? Image credit:

My grandparents have the gramophones. Their records were some traditional chinese opera. After my grandma passed away, I wonder what happen to the set and the collections of the records?

@allknowing There are a few shops around that can restore the player and a few more that actually sells the records. But such records are generally expensive.

I remember having in my home in the former Canal Zone in Panama an eight track player as well as a long play record player but my relatives and myself never owned a Gramaphone.

I remember seeing the record player in my grandparents home as a child. I've used plenty of cassettes and CDs and they are all buried somewhere in my parents home.

The dog’s name was Nipper, for the record. I’ve seen cylinder players but never actually listened to one. Most of my music is streamed now, although I do still have plenty of CDs and albums.

What were most cherished have ended up as liabilities. The earlier generations are saddled with their collection of gadgets and stamps etc. that the younger generation have no time for.
