Had to return my sneakers

I was very excited to wear my new On Cloud 5 sneakers yesterday. When I took them out of the box I noticed that they were not in perfect condition.
The material must not have been stitched properly or something because some of the material on the sides of the sneaker was sticking out instead of being straight and the tongue part (where the laces are) was wrinkled.
I went to Bloomingdale’s on 59th Street in Manhattan to try and exchange the sneakers for another pair but none were available. Another Manhattan location didn’t have it either. Even closer locations in NJ were out. I had no choice but to return them. Thankfully, I got the $25 in Lloyalist rewards credited back to me.
I am bummed though. I really loved those sneakers. Now I have to look for them elsewhere. They will probably cost more though. And that’s if they are even available. I may have to resort to looking for something else. Other models of On sneakers that I saw at Bloomingdale’s I didn’t like.

Thanks. I may have to just get them from the On website and pay a bit more.

I once bought a pair of sneakers and because I was not planning on returning them I paid for shipping. I did not qualify for free shipping then. The sneakers came and there was a defect and I had to return them to the store. They credited me the cost of the sneakers but what I had spent on shipping was not given back to me. I was bummed. No sneakers and the shipping charge was a waste in the end. Now I know shipping costs are never refunded. I try not to buy anything unless I qualify for free shipping.

What a bummer! I hope you keep on it and get them returned. The store should know about his failure too.

Yep. I am debating whether to just get the sneakers from the On website. They are on sale there too, though won't be same price I paid for them at Bloomingdale's. They'll be a bit more.

That’s frustrating! Nothing worse than finally getting something you’re excited about, only to have it be defective and then impossible to replace. Hopefully, you can track them down somewhere else without paying more. Maybe check online?

I checked the On company website. They seem to be there and they are on sale. But the extra $25 I took off the order when I bought them in Bloomingdale’s is out so this makes them higher in price than what I paid the first time.

@lovebuglena Yeah, prices can be tricky like that. Glad you got a better deal the first time!

Sounds shoddy workmanship. Possibly someone had returned them before you

I have the same sneakers in black/white and they were in perfect condition when I bought them. I expected the same when I ordered these.

Do you think they might have been cheaper because of the defect? I hope you can find them elsewhere.

No. They just have a sale on On sneakers right now.

I have to try on my shoes before buying because some of the sizes are different from brand to brand.

That can be the case but usually I’m always size 8.
