I know I've have spoken in the past, but probably not too recently, that I take some stronger pain medication.
I have certainly told ya about my food allergies.
I'm pretty sure I've said that my worst allergy is often added to pills and considered an "inactive ingredient." I always say that it anything but inactive to me.
For example, I got an... how to explain this... an infection in my eyelid. I hadn't done anything! I mean it, suddenly my right eye is just weeping. I after about 5 days, because don't ya know, weekends, I got in to see the doctor. And, as they always do, want to prescribe an antibiotic.
As always I have to tell them I can only take liquid antibiotics. That didn't thrill the doctor, but she found a cream I could put on it.
Honestly, that makes me happier than liquid ones. Just a few days with the cream and it is better. Even better, it is there in case it flared up again! The cream is good for a year.
So, as I was making up my next dose of medication, I looked and there was a small, floating something in the measuring cup I use to measure my doses. I don't know what it was. I still don't know what it was, but I fished it out before I added the medicine.
Now, I take 2 liquid medications every 8 hours. Neither of them taste very good, but one tastes much worse than the other. I add peppermint extract to them to try and tame the bad taste. I have actually found that the one that doesn't taste as bad as the other actually helps make the other not as bad and I didn't add the flavorings. That was before they got a different manufacturer for a short time that made the not so bad tasting one worse than the bad tasting one. Then I started adding the flavoring. It didn't help a lot, but it did help some.
Now... now I just allot the flavoring into my grocery shopping. I did complain to the drug store. I assured them that I knew they had not control over it, but maybe if they sent the message up the bosses would know this wasn't a good change.
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who complained. The bad tasting stuff was gone the next month.
I mean, I may be the only one taking this in liquid form for my reason, but they would not make it if I were the only one. I mean... how do people who have their jaws wired shut take medication?
I do wish I knew what it was in my dose, it wasn't there when I used the same cup to measure the first medication...
