Life lesson you wish you learned sooner

We all have those moments where we look back and think, 'If only I knew then what I know now.' For myself, I’d say watching my speech when it comes to limiting statements. I started making significant progress in my career and relationships when I shifted to speaking positively and took intentional actions to improve. How about you? What's one life lesson or piece of advice you wish you'd learned earlier? Maybe it's something about personal growth, relationships, finances, or just navigating life. I’d love to hear your stories and insights—you never know who might benefit from what you’ve learned!

Looking back like that is a bit of an oxymoron, a type of a regret, at best, although it can be useful if it prods us into a greater awareness of who we really are right now. We could never know what we now know back then, as it took getting to now to know it. The other point, I might make here, is that some people over-value what they think that they know now. Most learning is learning the wrong stuff, if we are not growing inwardly as our higher self too. We can spend a whole life becoming a better sportsperson, businessman, for example, but a one dimensional life like that seldom serves the true purposes of who we are, and who we could have really been, as we have higher purposes and reasons for being than just developing mind, and body skills. We need to build inner wisdom, and knowledge of higher truths too. We need to heighten our ability to be heart people, and live from the love in our hearts too.

@SageHorizon Yes, that is a good intent. We can certainly all learn from each other, and we can usually teach each other something too.

Great points! My intent was not to feel the full weight of "regret" but rather share with others the life lessons that are important in their opinion. Everyone can learn from one another.

Maybe, be careful what you wish for, or when people show you who they are believe them the first time

Yes, this is so true. I believe in the idea that it’s not about "making it" but rather sustaining and growing it. Also, I think of a quote someone said "Not everyone who is nice to you is your friend, and not everyone who is mean to you is your enemy". I think it was Mike Tyson.

financial. But I think I will sure educate our next generations to be more mindful in building their own empire and be finacially literate and know how to make money work for them at an early age. but of course I pray that they will keep humble and respectful even if they become successful.

I totally agree! I try to give some tips to my friends and coworkers. Tips such as, using debit cards that build credit (Fizz), PayPal cash back rewards, NewTek Bank High APY 4.45% savings account, and the Future Card which gives cash back for green purchases and 1% on everything else. Lastly, I advise to get a Roth IRA ASAP or at least look into it.

Thank you! I truly think that our words hold power and that if we channel it correctly, then we can be the change we want to see.

Yeah I know I struggled with this for a while. I’m glad the right people were placed in my life to help me get to a healthier place.

I felt lost in my childhood when it came to what I wanted to become. I lacked self-confidence I wish I learned from those who were better at studies. After finishing my school, I had a better perception and that led to a more confident outlook to have a successful career. I applied myself with an earnest listening ear and thought from the point of view of others than jumping to conclusions.
