Good morning my friends. It's my Monday technically. I'm sitting at Chris's house this morning getting some computer work done before I try to fit in some writing, reading and shop work.
The weekend was absolutely amazing!!! I don't usually focus on the weekend but I am today.
Friday night was the First Responder dinner and it was simply amazing. Like out of this world more than we expected. One of the churches around here put it on but what blew me away was that this whole dinner was thought up by the youth group. I guess I really am jaded because we barely get appreciation from adults but this group of youths, kids...chose to appreciate their county's first responders.
It was so very professional. Candle lit dinner tables, cheesecake desert, salad, lasagna and breadsticks. sweet tea, unsweet tea and water were the drinks. The kids served and were very professional. They were nervous but did very well. We were all so impressed and I'm sorry more of us didn't take advantage of it.
We all took pictures of the meal because it was presented very well.
Saturday was pretty busy. We helped out at the main cleaning out the spot for the new training props. Well, that spilled over into going through the building and cleaning some old junk out. There's some for trash and some for sale. We even got a few things organized more. It made sense while we had people there. After we decided to put the cat cage together. That was a pain in the butt but we spent the rest of the day just getting the framework up.
For those that knew about the baby shower, yes, I actually got out of it. I will be making something though for them and maybe trying to get everyone out to dinner. I miss hanging out with them but I just don't do baby showers.
Sunday was supposed to be a day of rest but it ended up being the day we finished the cat cage. We were trying to get it so that they had plenty of shade and cover from rain. We had to take their dog house apart to get it in and we're going to try and see if their old house will fit in front of the door. It would make the perfect front if it would.
That brings us to Monday. It was my husband's last eye appointment. She lasered the last bit of his cataract away and we got the bill sorted out. We're making payments on his copay and I was still getting a bill. Apparently I wasn't supposed to. After that though we cleaned up the yard and I got a lot of cleaning in the house done. We went back up to the main to help move file cabinets. Thankfully it only took about an hour with 8 people. We even helped wash the main engine. It was something to do lol.
Today however, it's back to work for me. My husband overslept and I screwed up the time on the alarm so he missed work. Me, I'm working online and here at Chris's. I'll be getting the computer work done though, I have absolute faith in that lol. Then I'll try to work in some writing and I have a lot of shop work to do.
The shop is getting more business. I'll be starting on the rabbits today as well as I have an order for a few sets of coasters and earrings. It'll be busy that's for sure. We've been pushing the Easter items and the event will be soon. April 19th so fingers crossed I'll be ready for it.
I finished Rule by Jay Crownover the other night. It was actually pretty good and now it's been made into a movie. I'm pretty interested in seeing it but I'm waiting. Now I'm reading Variation by Rebecca Yarros. The same author of the Emperyan series that drove me up a wall, in a good way lol.
I haven't touched my puzzle lately but that's ok because the books have been calling me lol.
What is everyone else up to today? I have sales after work and then I get to do nothing lol.
