Have you ever lived in a house that didn’t feel like home?

I've moved back to my house after staying in the city for quite some time, but this house has never really felt like home to me. I always feel stressed here, and I tend to overthink things, which triggers my acid reflux. I have other houses, but this one feels quite different, even though it's still a house.

I've been there. When we got our first three-bed place, George thought it scarry. We got used to it and it helped him feel more comfortable when we bought this hoouse.

@tech40 I'm not sure. A month or two maybe. I think once we moved in and it didn't feel so empty, we started to feel more at home.

It's nice! How long did it take for you to get used to it?

I know that feeling, when I married my husband we lived in the house he had that was right across the driveway from his dads & where he was married to his ex wife for 20? yrs, I never did like living there but at the time we had no choice so I made the best of a bad situation till we could get another place.

Oh no! That’s really tough. Did you find a new home? How about renting a place instead?

@2ndchances24 Bad or worse… is it because of the expenses or because some people are against it?

I live in an apartment, and it will never feel like home. I feel at home at my parent’s house only.

I used to live in an apartment too, and I actually got used to it since I enjoyed the scenery from the balcony.

@tech40 This is just a terrible, old building, and I can’t afford to move.

It’s hard when a place that’s supposed to be a refuge just doesn’t feel right.

The house where I live with my parents are good but you can here the quarrel of your neighbors and a lot of noisy children playing outside or women talking gossips. You may think the community is like squatters area.

That sounds like how I feel living where we do now. With my parents. It's getting harder and the days are more miserable than happy lately.

It's really sad that you're at home but don't feel at home.
