School bullying, will it ever change, i wonder?

I read a news about father here that was arrested for bullying young school pupils in the street, age 12-13 years old with whom he had no connection. After 2 days, the story is different and it turned out that parents of these pupils lied that their children were bullied by this man when, in fact, these children bullied a child of this father and he was simply saying to them to leave his kid alone. His kid was bullied by them and by other kids for a year. I read the interview, dived into my past and remembered how school ignored bullying back then. Today, it is similar reaction; class teacher wasn't aware of that, just like school. Substitute class teacher from last year warned the pupils but not in a right way. They kept verbally insulting the boy, destroying his school equipment and occassionally hitting him. Father will involve police too cause he spent 2 days wrongly accussed at the police because of malicious lie from parents of these pupils. I support him and it's sad how in some areas parents are too involved in work of school while in other, they have to stop some things on their own. What do you think about school bullying?

i was bullied in my primary school and high school and at some jobs too. i feel parents should introduce kids first about this and not expecting to kids confide first. and schools. in media and on their days, they are bragging about doing much while there are always some children that aren't protected so, where are they then. i'm sorry you were bullied.

It seems like the police should have been able to get this sorted out much more quickly! It's so common for kids who are bullies to have terrible parents, too. They deserve for the man to sue them, but he probably won't.

like with many news here and in the world, media published this at first and then nothing. i hope police helped this man. when he had to take injustice into his own hands.

I hope these kids are protected but it is an alarming fact that there are still lots of people bullying others school kids.

it is alarming but since adults bully adults, it's a vicious circle sometimes, i feel.

It will never improve until cameras are everywhere, catching every moment so things can be proven beyond a doubt.

you're very right about that. we need evidence but, perhaps there are cameras but in the halls and not in the classrooms.

@grenery8 Bullying doesn't stop at the door to a classroom. Teachers can also bully students.

I was bullied in school. I don't like it at all. Parents need to teach their children better before even sending them to school.

@grenery8 True, but what I meant was that parents should teach their children not to bully others in the first place!

i was too and sometimes parents should ask their children first is everything all right or warn us if someone is mean to us to tell them, so we can rely on them. you are right.

No, there will always be bullies whether in school or elsewhere. I remember Teachers just not being aware what was going on in their classrooms or maybe they just did not want to get involved. I remember getting bullied a bit in school.
